As a result of many years of comprehensive scientific research of the chemical composition of isolated physiologically active compounds from various plants, the proof of their chemical structures, the study of pharmaco-toxicological properties in such laboratories of the Institute as laboratories of alkaloid chemistry, chemistry of lipids, ecdysteroids, coumarin chemistry and terpenoids, chemistry of glycosides and other laboratories of the Institute began to create new drugs, bioreactants, biologically active additives set tasks the creation of a new technological laboratory for the development of industrial production technology, the development of laboratory, pilot industrial, industrial regulations, the development of a package of regulatory and technical documentation for these preparations for their introduction into production, and also for establishing their mass production - temporary pharmacopoeial articles on vegetable raw materials, on the substance and on the finished dosage form of the drugs produced.

Since 1963, under the direction of Ph.D., and since 1972, Ph.D., Professor. T.Sh. Shakirova established an Experimental Technological Laboratory at the Institute, where technological studies of the production of physiologically active plant substances, food protein, and other components from cottonmeal are widely carried out. In order to establish scientific research in this laboratory, highly qualified specialists - technologists were invited to work. From the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, Ph.D. Umarov S.U., Ph.D. Shamsutdinov M.R.I., Ph.D. Dobronravova EK, Ph.D. Genkina G.L., from the laboratory of chemistry of alkaloids of the Institute, engineer-technologist, Ph.D. Shakirov TT, from 1963 to 1998, the laboratory was headed by Shakirov T.T. (later it was headed by Ph.D. Turakhodzhaev MT (1998-2008), Ph.D. Sadikov A.Z. (2008-2012), Ph.D. Kh.A. RM (2012-2014), Doctor of Technical Sciences Sadikov AZ (2015 - to present). Young specialists who graduated from technical institutes and universities were recruited.

Extensive research has been launched in the laboratory in the field of chemical technology for the production of pharmaceuticals and bioreactive substances from plant raw materials. Systematic studies of the technological processes of extraction of plant materials, sorption, desorption, precipitation, ion exchange, crystallization, drying processes of biologically active natural compounds have been initiated, and research has been launched to develop methods for standardization of the products obtained. Special attention was paid to the issues of mathematical modeling and optimization of the processes of isolation from plant raw materials of alkaloids, glycosides, coumarins, flavanoids and other biologically active substances that are important for medicine and for agriculture.

research on the development and creation of original new cost-effective methods for the production of biologically active substances from plant materials, with particular attention paid to the development of production methods, taking into account the structural features, the substance extracted from vegetable raw materials, its physicochemical properties, etc.

As a result of fundamental technological research, it has been established that in order to develop methods for the production of neutral biologically active substances of plants, in addition to the physicochemical properties of the released substance, it is necessary to take into account the polarity of the extractants used to extract plant materials. It was revealed that the polarity of the extractant strongly influences the yield of the final product and high values of technological results are obtained when regulating the polarity of the extractant. Were developed and introduced into production industrial technologies for obtaining new medicines as psoralen (against vitiligo) from n / h psoralea, bruised, psoberan (against vitiligo) from fig leaves, ecdisten from rhizomes with safflower-shaped roots, tefestrol (the drug eliminates common disorders that occur due to a lack of ovarian function, it activates the processes of synthesis and secretion of luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones in the pituitary gland, improves the general condition of a woman in menopause.) Panofer l (used in poultry to increase the egg production of chickens). From n / h zhizuchki Turkestan along with ecdystenom based on ecdysteroids of this plant developed and introduced into the production of biologically active additives adaptogenic action of exumids. Intensive work continues on the creation of new drugs from plant materials containing biologically active neutral substances. Clinical trials of new drugs were successfully carried out and at the stage of completing the introduction into production of such drugs as cynaroside, ferulene, flanorin, flutheron, and others. Above the creation of industrial technology of the above drugs has special merits of such laboratory employees as Ph.D. Shamsutdinov M.R.I., D.Sc. Genkina G.L., Ph.D. Turakhodzhaev MT, Ph.D. Kadirova F. R., Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Mamatkhanov A.U., Doctor of Technical Sciences Sagdullaev B.T., Ph.D. Shakhidoyatov R.Kh., Ph.D. Khalilov R.M., Ph.D. Satimov GB, Ph.D. Abdukadirov.I.T., Ph.D. Mamatkhanova M.A. and others under the guidance of Dr. Sc., prof. Shakirova.T.T.

One of the main directions of the laboratory is the development of industrial technology for the production of drug substances based on physiologically active alkaloids. Laboratory staff has developed various industrial methods for the production of alkaloids from plant materials. For the first time investigating the strength of the basicity of certain alkaloids and their solubility, acad. H.N. Aripov established the dependence of the solubility of an alkaloid in different solvents on the strength of its basicity and proposed a technological classification of methods for the production of alkaloids from vegetable raw materials. This classification after studying the strength of the basicity of the isolated alkaloid allows you to pre-select the methods of production, select the extractant and work out the technology according to the stages of production. Also, for the first time laboratory staff found that the vast majority of the alkaloids studied in the form of salts, regardless of the strength of the basicity, dissolve well in the alcohol-water system with maximum dissolution at an alcohol concentration of 55%. It was established experimentally that for the selective extraction of alkaloids from plant materials, it is rational to use solutions of ethyl alcohol with a strength of 75-85%. The laboratory is intensively working on the development of technologies for the production of alkaloids by the method of extracting plant materials with water, weak solutions of mineral or organic acids, followed by ultrafiltration. Laboratory staff developed industrial technologies and introduced into the production of plant alkaloids such drugs as vincamine, vincamethrin, ervinin, cytisine, deoxypeganin hydrochloride, licorin hydrochloride, allapinin, axarmin; such bioreagents as heliotrin, bikukulin, d-β-hydrastin, aconitin, etc.

Above the creation of industrial technology of the above preparations there are special merits of such laboratory staff, as Dr. Sc., Prof. T.Sh. Shakirov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Acad. Aripov H.N., Ph.D. Dobronravova EK, Ph.D. Mirkina RA, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sh.Sh. Sagdullaev, Doctor of Technical Sciences Sadikov A.Z., Ph.D. Avazmukhamedov L., Ph.D. Babaev BB, Dr. of Sc. Sadikov T. et al.

Also, in the laboratory under the guidance of prof. Shakirova T.T. work was carried out on the development of complex processing of cottonseed meal with the release of such valuable components as edible protein, technical phytin, raffinose, etc. An industrial regulation was developed and approved for the production of edible protein and phytin and other necessary regulatory and technical documentation for a workshop with a productivity of 4 tons of protein and 1.5 tons of phytin per day (Chernovitsk), also developed industrial.
