INTERNATIONAL INTEREST IN THE CONFERENCE IS GROWING

The S.Yu. Yunusov Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances will host the international conference “Biologically Active Compounds: From Chemistry to Medicine” in Tashkent on 7–9 October 2026.
The forthcoming conference has attracted significant international interest, with more than 70 scientists and researchers from foreign countries expected to participate. The growing international participation highlights the increasing scientific visibility of the conference and its relevance to the global research community working at the interface of natural products chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, and medicine.
International participants include researchers from Germany, Russia, Türkiye, China, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and other countries, representing leading universities and research institutions. Their participation will provide an important platform for scientific exchange, the presentation of recent research findings, and the development of new international collaborations.
The scientific programme covers a broad range of contemporary research areas, including natural products chemistry, pharmacognosy, medicinal plants, biologically active compounds, organic synthesis, biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, and the discovery of promising compounds for the treatment of neurodegenerative and oncological diseases.
INTERNATIONAL PLENARY SPEAKERS
A particularly important feature of the conference programme is the participation of internationally recognized scientists delivering plenary lectures on emerging developments in their respective fields.
Among the invited speakers are Till Opatz and Sarah Westarp from Germany; Professor Anake Kijjoa from Portugal; Prof. HQ XIE, Ying-Jun Zhang, and Luoyi Wang from China; and Professor Hyun Uk Kim from the Republic of Korea. Their contributions will bring together perspectives from different scientific disciplines and research communities.
A PLATFORM FOR INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION
The conference is designed not only as a venue for presenting scientific results, but also as a platform for building international research partnerships, exchanging expertise, and identifying new opportunities for collaborative research.
By bringing together scientists from Uzbekistan and leading research institutions across Europe, Asia, and other regions, the conference aims to strengthen international scientific cooperation and advance research spanning the entire pathway “From Chemistry to Medicine.”
The event will also contribute to further strengthening the international profile of Uzbekistan's scientific community and creating new opportunities for joint research projects, academic exchange, and long-term institutional collaboration.
