II. The aim of the study is a chemical study of terpenoids and phenolic compounds of plants Artemisia juncea Kar et Kir., Ficus carica L. and Psoralea drupacea Bunge growing in Uzbekistan; development of a new optimal method of obtaining furanocoumarins from P. drupacea; development of a new method of qualitative testing of F. carica leaves for the presence of furanocoumarins, as well as the study of biological activity of extractive sums and their individual compounds.

III. The scientific novelty of the dissertation research is as follows:

the aerial part of Artemisia juncea of the flora of Uzbekistan was first investigated. It is shown this specie produces terpenoids and flavonoids. As a result, 5 sesquiterpene lactones, 2 triterpenoids, 11 flavonoids are isolated from this plant, of which 2 are new, previously not published in the world literature, 1 cyclic polyol. The structures of isolated substances have been proven, and more than 78 mono- and sesquiterpenoid volatile compounds have been identified;

for the first time, a new non-published in literature sesquiterpene lactone 11-epi-dehydroisoleucomisine has been isolated from A. juncea, for which the structure and absolute configuration of all chiral centers in its molecule as 7R,8S,11S has been established by X-ray analysis;

developed a new method for producing biologically active sesquiterpene lactone austricin from the aerial part of A. juncea;

for the first time, the volatile components obtained by steam- and hydrodistillation and benzene and hexane extraction from the leaves of Ficus carica by GC-MS have identified;

a new method of qualitative testing of F. carica leaves was worked out for the presence of furanocoumarins;

a new method for obtaining furanocoumarins from Psoralea drupacea fruits was developed, with the help of which pure furanocoumarins angelicin and psoralene are isolated and their water-soluble forms are obtained for biological research.

IV. Implementation of research results. Based on the results of the chemical research of Artemisia juncea, Ficus carica and Psoralea drupacea, the following introductions were made:

x-ray structural data of the isolated sesquiterpene lactone 11-epi-dehydroisoleukomisine was registered in the International Structural Database Great Britain (The Cambridge Structural Database, https://www.ccdc.cam.ac.uk/structures/) and it was assigned CCDC 2216443 and ID number CIHNEQ. As a result, it became possible to determine and identify the spatial structure and potential pharmacological activity of similar substances entered into the database using electronic programs;

the results of research were used in the project TA-FA-F7-008 (2017-2020) «Research of natural terpenoids and phenolic compounds to create medical, veterinary and agricultural preparations on their basis» (Certificate of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan 4/1255-3263 of 22 November 2021). As a result, it became possible to study the structure and biological activity of terpenoids and flavonoids of plants of the genus Artemisia L.;

spectral data and chemical structure of isolated compounds from the aerial part of A. juncea were used in foreign publications when determining the structure of sesquiterpene lactones and flavonoids (Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 2020, V. 92, 104124, SciJournal, IF 1.502; Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, 2020, V. 21, 1711-1721, SciJournal, IF 2.564; Cell Biochem.Funct., 2020; 1–8, SciJournal, IF 3.957; Natural Product Research, 2020/2021, Bioxbio, IF 2.861. The results of the research were the basis for the determination of the structure of isolated compounds.
