II. The aim of research work is to study phenolic compounds produced by plants Geranium saxatile Kar. & Kir, Geranium charlesii (Aitch. & Hemsl.) Vved. and Geranium collinum Stephan ex Willd. growing in Uzbekistan; determination of their chemical structure and biological activity.
III. Scientific novelty is the research work:
from plants Geranium saxatile, Geranium charlesii and Geranium collinum isolated for the first time cyclohexanhexaolе, phenole, isocoumarine, 5 phenolcarboxylic acids, 17 flavonoids, 2 xanthones and 2 butyrolactones;
for the first time by spectral methods and X-ray diffraction analysis the spatial determined a structure of the new butyrolactone (3S-8-hydroxyphenyl-4S-(2′′R,3′′S)-2,3,4-trihydroxybutanoyl-4S,7′S-propionate-4,7'-4'-hydroxyphenyl-3,4-γ-butyrolactone) called charlesolide;
for the first time the configuration of all chiral centers of butyrolactone savaranin, which has the structure of (3S,4R,5S,6R,7S)-3-n-hydroxyphenyl-5,6,7-trihydroxyoxolane-1,4-olide, was established by X-ray diffraction analysis;
for the first time in world practice, studies have established the production by plants of the genus Geranium L. of two groups belonging to the phenolic class of natural compounds; xanthones and butyrolactones.
IV. Implementation of the results.
Based on the studies of phenolic compounds of plants Geranium saxatile, Geranium charlesii and Geranium collinum:
received a patent of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the invention No. IAP 07102, 2022 AIS RUz: “Method of obtaining a remedy for the treatment of diseases with skin depigmentation”. As a result, it became possible to create a medicinal product based on local plant materials;
X-ray diffraction data of two isolated butyrolactones, sawaranine and charlezolide, were registered in the UK international structural database (The Cambridge Structural Database, https://www.ccdc.cam. ac.uk/structures/) and assigned CCDC numbers GARLOE/1895013, URUYOY/2020721;
the data of the dissertation research were used in the grant "Development of five topical drugs based on natural terpenoids, alkaloids and phenolic compounds for the pharmacological correction of metabolic syndrome disorders" (2012-2014), "Development of radioprotective agents based on local isoprenoids and polyphenols" (2015- 2017) (Reference 4/1255-3264 of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 22, 2021). As a result, one patent application was submitted to the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
