- The aim of the study is to synthesize 2-methyl-5-chlorobenzimidazole derivatives, determine their structure, evaluate their herbicidal activity and develop a technology for obtaining a highly effective herbicide "Buran DOS-I 50% em.k.", 5-nitro-2-propionamidobenzimidazole, as well as a stable suspension of 6-nitroquinazolin-4-ones with insecticidal activity.
III. Scientific novelty of the research:
For the first time, the reactions of 4-chloro-2-nitroaniline with propionic and butyric acids were carried out, and the factors affecting the course of the reaction (substrate structure, acid nature, reaction temperature and duration) were determined, and the reaction mechanism was proposed;
Among the derivatives of 2-methyl-5-chlorobenzimidazole, it was found that their herbicidal properties decrease with an increase in the number of methylene groups in the 2-position (increasing the homologous series);
For the first time, it was found that a water-soluble substance with high herbicidal activity was formed as a result of the interaction of 2-methyl-5-chlorobenzimidazole and N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine;
For the first time, targeted nitration of 2-propionamidobenzimidazole was carried out, the main factors affecting the course of the reaction (acid nature, reaction temperature and duration) were determined, and the reaction mechanism was theoretically substantiated;
The physicochemical and toxicological properties of 2-methyl-5-chloro-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-ium (phosphonomethyl)glycinate salt (Buran DOS-I) with high pesticidal activity 50% e.m.c., 5-nitro-2-propionamidobenzimidazole, 6-nitroquinazolin-4-ones have been determined;
For the first time, it has been proven that it is possible to obtain a stable 10% preparative suspension form of 6-nitroquinazolin-4-one that meets the requirements of GOST.
IV. Implementation of the research results.
Based on the scientific results obtained in the synthesis of new derivatives of 5-chlorobenzimidazole and quinazolin-4-ones, the study of their chemical transformations, the determination of the structure and biological properties of the obtained compounds, as well as the development of technologies for obtaining water-soluble salt forms of highly active substances:
The scientific results obtained on the study of the biological activity of synthesized benzimidazole and quinazoline-based compounds were used in the laboratory of synthetic drug technology of the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of basic funding, in 2022-2024 (Reference No. 4/1255-1501 dated June 17, 2025). As a result, 5-chloro-2-methyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-ium(phosphonomethyl)glycinate salt and 5-nitro-2-propionamidobenzimidazole were synthesized based on the 2-aminobenzimidazole derivative, and the insecticidal activity of 6-nitroquinazolin-4-one was determined;
The herbicidal substance 5-nitro-2-propionamidobenzimidazole has been approved by the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the technical conditions and technical instructions for the “5-nitro-2-propionamidobenzimidazole substance” (Ts 03535440- 059:2023; TY-03535440-059:2024). As a result, it was possible to obtain a low-toxic and highly effective herbicide against monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous annual weeds;
