II. Aim of the research: Study of chemical composition of secondary metabolites of seven species of plants of genera Astragalus and Epilobium, growing on the territory of Uzbekistan, isolation, determination of chemical composition and establishment of their structure, identification of known compounds and study of their biological properties in order to create effective medicinal preparations on their basis.
Scientific novelty of the study consists in the following:
- 27 individual substances were isolated from 6 species of plants of the genus Astragalus, 22 of which are cycloartane compounds, the identification of their chemical structures was established using physicochemical methods of research;
- it has been established that the sum of cycloartans obtained from 2 species of plants of Astragalus genus: Astragalus flexus Fisch and Astragalus chivensis Bunge, shows activity, improving the work of the heart, which allowed to develop standards (Тs 03535440-043:2021, 27.07.2021) and technological recommendations (ТИ 03535440-043:2022, 08.06.2022) for biologically active additives "Oldencor" and "Cardioartan", approved by the Sanitary-epidemiological peace and public health service of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- for the first time 5 new compounds were isolated from the plant Astragalus mucidus Bunge and their structure was established;
-1 new, previously unknown compound was obtained for the first time by acid hydrolysis of cycloascidoside A and its structure was established;
- 6 individual cycloartane triterpenoids were isolated from Astragalus lehmannianus Bunge for the first time, 2 of them turned out to be new natural substances not described in the literature;
- 7 individual cycloartane glycosides were isolated from Astragalus lastiostula Bunge, 1 of them was a new compound not described in the literature;
- 6 compounds were isolated from Astragalus oldenburgii B. Fedtsсh, 6 compounds of cycloartane series were isolated and their structures were confirmed;
- in total, 18 compounds were isolated and identified for the first time from the studied plant species;
- according to the results of pharmacological studies the sum of cycloartane glycosides of the above-ground part of A. chivensis and A. flexus plants has cardioprotective effect, and it was revealed that the methanol extract of Epilobium hirsutum L. has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activity.
Implementation of the research results. Based on the scientific results of the investigation of the chemical composition and biological activity of plants Astragalus and Epilobium hirsutum L.:
2 types of Astragalus plants: based on the sum of cycloartans obtained from Astragalus chivensis Bunge and Astragalus flexus Fisch plants, biological active additives (BAA) with cardioprotective effect "Cardioartan" and "Oldencor" have been developed, as well as an organizational standard (Ts 03535440-043:2021, 07.27.2021) and technological instruction (TI 03535440-043:2022, 06.08.2022) and approved by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.;
IPA patent of the Republic of Uzbekistan (reg. No. IAP 14270, 30.05.2024 y.) for the invention "Means having analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activity" was obtained. As a result, it became possible to create a medicinal product based on local raw materials;
The scientific results of the study of cycloartan compounds of Astragalus plants were used to obtain the necessary scientific information by comparing the results in more than 50 scientific articles published in prestigious foreign scientific journals with high impact factor (Nat. Prod. Rep., 2015, V. 37. IF-2.48; Phytochemistry Let. 15, IF-2.01; Phytochemistry Rev., 2018, V. 17, IF-4.25; Curr. Top. Med. Chem., 2017, V. 17, IF-2.79; Molecules, 2014, V. 19, IF-4.67; Zeitschrift fur Naturfor. B., 2020, V. 75, IF-1.01; Chem. Nat. Comp., 2021, V. 57, IF-0.79). Based on the scientific results presented in the thesis, it was possible to prove the structure and biological properties of cycloartane compounds isolated from several plants. The monograph "Secondary metabolites of plants of the genus Astragalus and their biological activity" is used in the educational process and preparation of diploma and course works in Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh (Department of "Organic and inorganic chemistry", Department of "Agroecology and introduction of medicinal plants"), Nukus State Pedagogical Institute (Department of "Methods of teaching chemistry") and Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnology (Department of "Technology of preservation of agricultural products, cultivation and processing of medicinal plants"). (Reference No. 1159 dated 21 November 2023 of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan). As a result, it allowed to obtain the necessary scientific information for the preparation of graduate qualification and dissertation works of bachelors, masters and doctoral students.
